Happy Cat Month
Here at Rainier West Veterinary Hospital, we strive to keep your furry family members happy and healthy for their entire lives. We accomplish this through preventative care, such as annual exams, vaccines and routine lab work, educating owners about environmental enrichment at home, as well as the treatment and management of both acute and chronic illnesses.
Environmental enrichment at home is the first step at promoting a happy and healthy cat. Feline friendly toys, climbing trees and scratching posts with a variety of substrates and angles can help keep your cat active and entertained. Providing adequate litter boxes depending on the number of cats in the home is critical for promoting appropriate eliminations. Pheromone sprays can be helpful for an anxious or nervous cat to improve mood and behavior. Additional recommendations can be made based on the individual
cat and their particular environment.
At Rainier West we aim to keep your furry companion healthy through preventative care appropriate to your cat’s age and lifestyle. Establishing a baseline for your pet with routine labs can identify certain illnesses early for better treatment and management. Keeping up to date on vaccinations and parasite prevention is also important.
When your cat is not feeling well, we strive to find the root cause of the ailment. We do this through state-of-the-art diagnostics including both in-house and send-out laboratory testing, digital whole body radiography, basic ultrasonography and access to diagnostic ultrasound and referral specialists when needed. We tailor any treatment plan to the individual patient to get them feeling well again and living their best lives.
If you have any questions regarding your pet’s health, please give us a call and we can schedule you for an appointment with Dr. Doyle, and together we can create an individualized plan for your cat in any stage of its life.
