Megan Doyle
Dr. Megan Doyle graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 and moved back to western Washington to start in general practice. Throughout her career, she aspired to open her own private practice where she could provide exceptional care to companion animals in a warm and caring environment. This led to the creation and opening of Rainier West Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Doyle has a passion for preventive medicine as well as internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
In her private life, Dr. Doyle is married with two sons. They have a golden retriever named Gus and a long-haired dachshund named Gimli as well as a cat named Lucy, though they like to call her “kitten”. In her free time, Dr. Doyle enjoys spending time outdoors on their small farm, camping, hiking and spending time with family.
Honey
Honey is our team mascot and was initially seen as a patient of Dr. Doyle's and melted her heart at first sight as a little ball of fur for her first puppy visit with the rest of her litter. Honey's favorite things are her people, especially her kids, coming to work with Dr. Doyle to see her work family, and picking apples and peaches off the fruit trees at home.
Lucy
Lucy is our illusive kitty that loves attention on her terms. She loves the dogs when they sit still and to hang out on her cat tree.
Gus
Gus is our Golden Retriever with lots of love and energy. Gus loves going for runs and is always happy to be around his people.
Gimli
Gimli is our older guy that's found most frequently taking a nap. His other hobbies include eating fallen snacks from the kids, licking the floor and digging holes in the garden.
Bretta Bauman
Dr. Bretta Bauman was raised in Ohio, where her love for animals large and small originated and her passion for the veterinary field started. After receiving her pre-veterinary science bachelor’s degree, Dr. Bauman spent time in Niger, West Africa working for the Peace Corps. Through this experience she was able to assist in many life improving projects such as growing drought-resistant crops with subsistence farmers, improving livestock genetics, training traditional midwives, and teaching women to read and write.
Dr. Bauman then received her Master of Science at Tuskegee University followed by completing vet school in Edinburgh, Scotland, and came to the Olympia area in 2018 where she has been practicing ever since.
Dr. Bauman is passionate about dermatology, feline medicine, internal medicine, and ophthalmology. She is your pet’s biggest advocate when it comes to discussing their medical issues, and will go above and beyond to provide detailed client education to ensure informed and confident understanding in your pet’s treatment plan.
In her free time, Dr. Bauman enjoys riding her horse Rainy, gardening, exploring the PNW with her fiancée and their two dogs Bella and Manny, and coming home to their three cats, Sylvester, Evelyn and MoMo.
She is thrilled to be joining the amazing team here at Rainier West Veterinary Hospital most of whom she has worked with before. She cannot wait to get to know every one of her new patients!
